Vinyl Wednesday: Cannonball Adderly And His Orchestra - African Waltz

While reading about the album on
Wikipedia, I get interested in the arranger of this orchestra album. Everything is arranged by a Ernie Wilkins, a name I never had paid attention to. It seems that he was a conductor and arranger who spent several years with Count Basie. He also wrote for Tommy Dorsey, Harry James, and Dizzy Gillespie. He was musical director for albums by Cannonball Adderley, Dinah Washington, Oscar Peterson, and Buddy Rich. Good to know, I will certainly dig deeper in his oevre...
