Presenting: Saxify musicians & beyond - Darius van Helfteren

Darius van Helfteren did the first mastering of "Saxify" before it was handed over to Rinus Hooning at the vinyl pressing plant "Record Factory".
I met Darius in 2006/07 when he was still working at Wisseloord Studio. "On Track" in 2008 (released in 2009) was the first album mastered in his new and own studio "Amsterdam Mastering".
He's considered as one of the top mastering engineers in Europe.
Born and raised in the musical melting pot of London, and living for the last 16 years in Amsterdam, Darius brings a breadth of knowledge of different musical styles that is so crucial to getting the appropriate finishing touch to your project.
His musical background ranges from a classical training, playing in rock, funk and jazz bands to producing and DJ’ing. Darius worked as mastering engineer in the world famous Wisseloord studios in Hilversum for eight years before setting up Amsterdam Mastering in 2008.
“For me, music is all about communication, and mastering is about helping an artist or producer communicate their music to the world in the best way possible”.
