Happy new year!

For me, 2016 has been a busy and fantastic year. I hope, for you, too!!

I would like to share some of my activities with you during the last year, just in case you are not so active on social media or don’t manage to keep up with everybody’s news feed.
Many of you already might have Saxify in your posession, but maybe you are also curious about the remixes?

In addition to the performances Susanne is currently doing (see Bands & Projects), "Venus Tunes Live” will be a new live act Susanne Alt will take on the road.
The line-up is consisting of Susanne Alt (dj/sax) featuring 1 or 2 dj/vocalists of the Saxify remixes, including: Berenice van Leer, Lorrèn, Mavis Acquah, SaraLee Vos or Lex Empress.

Saxify
After years of producing the new album, finally it was finished....

In March, my sixth album “Saxify” has been released (Venus Tunes) on vinyl (2x180g), cd, digitally and there’s even a 7”-inch single and a video clip!
This album was a dream come true for me, after 5 jazz albums I really wanted to make a funk album and here it is! It features 36 musicians who influenced me and I always wanted to record with.

Saxify has been very well-received by critics in the Netherlands, UK, Germany and Japan (see press quotes below).

Remixes
From September on, my label Venus Tunes started to release dance remixes of the “Saxify” material by Dutch and internationally well-known producers like DJ Spinna, Opolopo, SoulParlor, DJ Maestro, Junie Morrison, and many more. This series of remixes will go on until April 2017.
The artwork has been designed by multimedia artist Teis Albers; watch these beautiful animated art clips he made for the remixes.

My latest mix is now online. Venus Tunes Sessions is a monthly mix by Susanne Alt on Freak31, aired every first Sunday of the month at 19:00h. In addition, earlier Venus Tunes Sessions shows are repeated every Friday between 20:00-21:00 and Tuesday 21:00-22:00.Freak 31 has around 250 daily listeners (less during the week, more in the weekend) and a total of +10.000 listeners every month. In addition to Mixcloud and Hearthis, all mixes are also available as podcasts on Deezer and iTunes.It was in 2015 when I had my first official dj gig and since 2016 I started to perform regularly. This took place in Amsterdam's Skyybar, Floor17 and The Harbourclub Zuid... bit by bit, other places like Momo and W Amsterdam followed, leading to club bookings as a dj and festival bookings with Venus Tunes Live in the Netherlands and abroad. All of this in addition to my normal life as a musician.
