Gig Pics: They Play - We Play

Yesterday evening,
New Heroes Basketball's owner Triple Double invited DJ Kit-T and me for their event at Maasport, 's-Hertogenbosch. I got to talk to basketball greats
Jos Kuipers and
Henk Pieterse. Inspiring to speak to these former professionals, you still see the basketball fire in their eyes. Kuipers is now working at
Sportservice Noord-Brabant, an organisation to get people into sports. Pieterse has a company called
Ball-Contact and gives basketball clinics and teaches about bullying.
Basketball always makes me think..
I am tall myself (1,83m/6 feet) and I started to play basketball in school but soon the saxophone took over. What a beautiful game (and the tall and often handsome people playing it)! Then, saxophone came along and that was the end of basketball because I wouldn't risk to get my hands or arms injured..
Another interesting factor of becoming a musician was going to concerts, hang out and getting to meet my idols. Plus, although I had a big mouth I was a bit to squeamish for sport. Discipline would come much later.. Choices! I am glad with my choice but I still have a soft spot for basketball.
Thanks
Jan Vis and
Dames Draaien Door for the booking.
