Digital friends become real time friends

Brian Ibbotson from Plymouth, England. We "met" on Myspace in 2005 or 2006 and we stayed in touch, also when Myspace was over and everyone moved to Facebook. A few weeks ago he sent me a message that he was visiting Amsterdam and so we mt for a drink at NeL. It's so nice to finally meet someone you have been writing with for a couple of years.
Myspace was the first international social media platform where famous and less famous people connected and promoted their stuff. From beginning musicians who even didn't have a website yet to world famous musicians who found the idea of getting in touch with other musicians without a management or booking agency was exciting.
