Alto sax revision

I've been playing my
Yanagisawa A991 (with Yanagisawa 'solid silver' neck A95) with great pleasure for 5 years now..
Well, I was, until 1,5 weeks ago, when the pad of the high "d" just fell out. I tried to glue it back in, but I couldn't get it right, it was completely dried out. I called Remy Veerman from
Charlie's Muziek and when he looked at the sax wondered. "How are you able to play on this instrument?" I had noticed that it was probably leeking a bit (when the pads don't close anymore and air can get though it, even when the pads are pressed down). Still, I'm always blaming myself first, I should practise more or take some fresh reeds. After 5 years intensive use, the original pads were totally worn out.
Plus, I didn't want to leave my saxophone alone with somone else.. Also I thought that my old Selmer Super Action II wouldn't be playable anymore, after years of almost neglecting it.
And I was wrong. The Selmer was just fine (revision by Remy Veerman done 10 years ago), only adjusted slightly a few times in the meantime. The Selmer and I had an exciting in-between affair; gigs and recordings were done succesfully. And then, last Wednesday it was time to pick up the revised Yanagisawa.
It's always a bit of a a scary moment.. the instrument you play on almost every day for 5 years just undergoes major surgery. Luckily it came out very fine! Probably even better than ever: New custome-built pads, cleaned up, everything is running smoothly and in tune.
I have to clarify something here: "Luckily" is the wrong word. As if it was a question of luck.. Not at all. Remy Veerman is the sax repairer I trust. He will not rip you off, only proposes a revision when it's really neccessary. His revisions and repairs last very long and he may not be the cheapest but as it is with quality service in general: You pay a bit more but you can enjoy it much longer.
Also, I got a chance to finally try the Remy saxophones, his own brand. If I wouldn't have a really nice Yanagisawa and I needed a new saxophone, I definitely would go for the Remy alto with silver neck.
