Jamal Jerome Thomas born July 1954 started playing drums at the age of 6 and played drums throughout school. His very first gig was with “Bobby Witlock” (Derek and the Dominos, Eric Clapton). An album was recorded called “Rock your socks off” with such musicians as Chuck Levell (Rolling Stones).
The next big gig for 2 years was with Black Oak Ark and later on he performed with Joe Simon, great R&B singer from the seventies.
In the year 1983 Jamal started playing with the SOS Band and recorded four albums , three of them sold over 500.000 copies each (goldrecords) working alongside with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (Top Producers for Janet Jackson,...).
Also in the 80s’ he recorded another album with Eddie Kendricks (The Temptations), and worked as a studio drummer for different artists.
Since 1995 he plays with Maceo Parker and recorded 6 Cds, also along with Fred Wesley and Pee Wee Ellis.
