We know Susanne Alt mainly as a saxophonist with a reknowned record in jazz. Now she releases an album and shows the listener all about funk. An impressive army of guest musicians (more than 30) from abroad (who worked with James Brown, EW&F and Tower of Power before) but also Dutch musicians like vocalists Lorrèn Rettich and Lex Empress and rapper E1 Ten (Gotcha!) are collaborating on this album. You really can hear so! From beginning until the end the funk is banging out of the speakers, in all colours of the rainbow.
It’s not a jazz album but there’s a lot of jazz in it, saxophone fulfills a big role but not the main role. King funk owns the main role, in vocal, rap and instrumental variations.
Unneccessary to say that you as listener will be saxified by the playing of Susanne Alt. With this album she reveals herself as a true funk wizard! Top album!
