Alt- und Sopransaxofonistin Susanne Alt stammt aus Deutschland, lebt seit einigen Jahren in Amsterdam und hat ebendort – im renommierten Bimhuis – im vergangenen Oktober ihr erstes Live-Album aufgenommen. Bestens unterstützt wird sie dabei von ihrer Working Band: Thijs Cuppen (p), Sven Schuster (b) und Philippe Lemm (dr). Der vorliegende Doppelsilberling bietet ein „Best Of“ aus Susanne Alts ersten drei CDs „Nocturne“, „Delight“ und „On Track“; besonders auf CD2 geht die Band richtig schön ab und zeigt, wie schlüssig sie das bewährte Konzept aus balladeskem Mainstream und funky Tunes in den letzten Jahren weiterentwickelt hat. Schade, dass das Susanne Alt Quartet außerhalb Hollands kaum live zu hören ist… schu

Alto and soprano saxophonist Susanne Alt is from Germany,has been living in Amsterdam for some years and recorded just there - in the famous Bimhuis - in October last year their first live album. She is been very well supported by her working band: Thijs Cuppen (p), Sven Schuster (b) and Philippe Lemm (dr). This double cd offers a "Best Of" from Susanne Alt's first three CD's "Nocturne," "Delight" and "On Track", and especially on CD2, the band shows what they have in store and it shows the qualitty of the concept, how of balladesque mainstream and funky tunes in recent years have evolved. Too bad that the Susanne Alt Quartet outside Holland can hardly be heard live.... schu
