The Jazzahead, the trade fair for the international jazz scene took place last weekend in Bremen, Germany. I was there for the third time; it takes place every year. I have to say every time I go there, I become better in knowing what I want and especially who I want to talk to. This time I focussed on labels because my label Venus Tunes and I are looking for a partner in Germany to release my new studio album at. I had a couple of fruitful conversations and some will follow during may, one label did not attend the Jazzahead but I will meet them at the middle of the month. Why are we looking for a partner? Because Venus Tunes is doing very fine in BeNeLux and it's time to expand towards our neighbour countries! We are quite successful here so I am sure together with a fair and knowledgeable partner we can rock, or pardon me... jazz... those music lovers all over the place, not only in the Netherlands.
I also had an interview with Jazzthetik, I think it will be issued in june. It was great to finally meet the guys who write for it, somehow I never got the chance. Also I got to read a fantastic review in Jazzpodium and the redaction of Jazzthing told me that they will also write a piece about "Live At Bimhuis". I will have to update the press section anyway, we got so many reviews and I haven't had time yet to type it over and put it online... to be continued.
Good! That's it for now, I have to continue working on the new album which is recorded already but a lot of editing has to be done to make it a funky, catchy and crispy, juicy jazzalbum.......Hope to see you at one of our concerts and feel free to contact me for bookings and collaborations!
