SaraLee sings lead and backing vocals on “Elixir”. The Opolopo Remix got picked up quite well by dj's worldwide and made a lot of noise!
I met her about 10 years ago when working together with DJ Graham B. During the last years we’ve been playing together in different contexts, mainly everywhere in between jazz, soul, funk and house. She’s truly an extraordinary vocalist with a big vocal range.
Here's a little impression of us performing together during King's Day:
More about her:
SaraLee Vos is a jazz, soul, r&b and pop singer. Also she has been teaching for many years.
Her parents have been in the spotlights, too: Tineke de Nooij was the first female radio dj in the Netherlands and is a well-known tv personality. Her father is jazz saxophone player Tony Vos.
She studied music at Rotterdams Conservatorium. In 2011 she released her first solo album “Great American Songbook” together with the Alexander Beets Quartet.
In 2016 the album “Mean Machine” with her band Electric Love followed.
Further projects in the past and present include Graham B & Jazz Juice, Stormvogel, The Voice Of Holland and MC’ing with various DJ’s at venues like Sugar Factory, Paradiso and Milkshake Festival.
SaraLee’s description on Electric Love’s website: “Crazy storyteller who’s a monster in improv, has a superb timing and an awesome sound. Sweet, sexy, jazzy, and profound but also obstinate, streetwise and a little rough around the edges.”
